Summer Hours for Contextures Blog

Monday was Victoria Day in Canada, which is the unofficial start of summer. However, my tomato plants are huddled in the garage, wearing little polar fleece sweaters, hoping it will warm up soon.

It dipped to 1°C last night, but at least it didn’t snow!

Despite the frosty weather, I’m putting the Contextures Blog on summer hours, and will be posting Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

I hope it’s warmer where you are!

  1. I assume you’ll be taking a pay cut too?

    It’s been about 38°C here in Tucson. Still not as warm as it will be getting in the next few months. But you don’t see me going to summer hours. No ma’m.

  2. Well, I can’t afford to take any less pay, but I will be slashing the subscription fees by 50%. Please check your invoices to make sure you’re charged the correct amount.

    Anyway, I’m glad to hear that you’re not cutting back for the summer. I really look forward to your monthly posts on The Spreadsheet Page.

    Now I have to get back to tending the crops and livestock.

  3. So you’re the one who reads my monthly post! I was wondering who it was. Now that I know my target audience, I’ll start posting more Canadian spreadsheet topics.

  4. Please kindly look at the VB program below (which works fine) and give me some advice on how to adjust it so that more than one filtering arrow is hidden from an excel range of filtered data but not all (except one) as in the example below.

    Thanks

    Sub HideArrows()
    ‘hides all arrows except column 2
    Dim c As Range
    Dim i As Integer
    i = Cells(1, 1).End(xlToRight).Column
    Application.ScreenUpdating = False

    For Each c In Range(Cells(1, 1), Cells(1, i))
    If c.Column 2 Then
    c.AutoFilter Field:=c.Column, _
    Visibledropdown:=False
    End If
    Next

    Application.ScreenUpdating = True
    End Sub

  5. Debra,
    You have been very helpful and what amazing speed of response. Thanks.
    One more doubt: Say that my range of columns start at d14:k14. What are the adjustments necessary to hide the filter arrows in e14, g14 and j14? Much appreciated. Erick.
