Meeting for Lunch
Last week David was visiting relatives in Canada and we met for lunch on Friday. We had a great chat, and I learned quite a bit about his very interesting work history.
I had previously met David at a Microsoft MVP Summit in 2001. That was the first year I received the award, and David had been an Excel MVP since 1999.
It was good to see him again, and I hope he enjoys the rest of his visit.

The world would be a lesser place without David’s phenomenally extensive public Excel contributions.
Interestingly, he’s not the only uberuser that decreased their Excel involvement since the deeply deproductive interface changes that began in 2007. If only Microsoft would show a sliver of honor, admit that the menu interface is better for power users, and return it. Even just as an advanced option, for God’s sake! Or can history’s richest company not afford it?
